In Chapter 1 in the novel "Ten Letters" by Eli Saslow, it is about Barack Obama receiving thousands of letters six days every week about people going through hard times and can't find a job because they were fired or didn't get paid enough. Chapter 1 also talks about Jen and Jay about how Jen was fired from being a Pharmacy Technician and so was her mother. So later that she had 3 cards from different companies they had a max of $3,000. She then maxed them out but then had to pay bill to the companies she was then over due and owed more than $50,000. They did bankruptcy because they had no "choice". Jen wrote a letter to Barack Obama about her difficult life. Thousands if people would talk about their lives.
